Born in Baltimore, raised in Indianapolis, Michael always had a love of movies and cinema which led hi to pursue a career in video production. Although his desire was to be the next Spike Lee by attending New York University or the next Steven Spielberg by attending USC, Michael had to be a bit more pragmatic and wound up attending Indiana University with no regrets. Upon graduation, Michael jumped right into video production working in news at Indianapolis WRTV-6 ABC, then a brief stint at CNN Atlanta, working on the floor of the newsroom during two notable occasions: the night of the Tiananmen Square protest in China and the debut of media personality Hannah Storm. A few years later, Michael took a job at Notre Dame University, which owned the local NBC affiliate, a production company, and radio stations. This was where Michael honed his chops as a cameraman, director and a burgeoning producer, having won the Indiana Judges Council Award for the long-form PSA “My Neighborhood.” He then moved back to Indianapolis to work as a corporate/commercial producer/director for FOX affiiate WXIN.
The lure of the Big Apple NYC brought Michael back east where he founded Qstorm Media Group, specializing in video producing, directing, acquisition and post-production. As executive producer, Michael built a network experienced cameramen, sound technicians, editors, graphic artists, and editors catering to corporate, commercial, broadcast and promotional outlets for the purposes of marketing, sales, promotion and. In addition, he has worked with a number of network and cable outlets in directing and shooting serial programming and documentaries, video news releases, electronic press kits, entertainment packages, music videos, and independent film shorts. His experience runs the gamut of creative conception, project management, budgeting, client relations and post-production supervision.
Beyond traveling across the USA, Michael’s varied projects have taken him to Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; Istanbul, the palaces of the Prime Ministers of Jordan and Lebanon, Syria, the Wailing Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. first aid missions to Bethlehem, and the Mayan temples of Chichen Itza.
